My stay at Magome Chaya Hotel was quite disappointing. The room felt excessively cold in the evening, making it hard to relax comfortably. Additionally, sitting on the floor for hours without any chairs was less than ideal, especially for those not used to it. The surroundings, although picturesque, involved a steep hill, which was a hassle while carrying luggage.

The stay was lovely as it allowed for easy access to the beautiful Nakasendo trail, making our hiking excursions very convenient. I particularly enjoyed the communal area, which was well-stocked for guests to prepare light meals and snack. Having a dining area that offered delicious meals created a pleasant atmosphere for winding down in the evening after a day of exploration.

We stayed at Magome Chaya for 2 nights when we walked the Magome-Tsumago Trail. The owners went out of their way to ensure our family had an amazing stay. The dinner and breakfast were both amazing, especially the unique dishes we got to try. We also appreciated the shared kitchen, which was well-stocked, allowing us to make our own snacks.

Staying here was such a delight. the futon was comfy, and the traditional tatami was well maintained. I loved how close it was to so many attractions like the Magome Lookout Point just a few steps away and the Toson Memorial Museum under a 10-minute walk, making my city strolls so enjoyable.
